Renee is the Partner in charge of the Intellectual Property and Commercial Team at Minkah-Premo & Co, Akosombo Chambers, Accra-Ghana.
Renee holds an LLB in Business and Finance Law from Brunel University, UK. Renee is a member of the Honourable Society of Lincolns Inn, UK (2004) and the Ghana Bar Association (2007). In addition to the legal educational credentials, Renee also possesses a MSc in International Management from the University of Essex, UK.
Renee has excellent skills in negotiating and drafting of all kinds of commercial agreements including IP licenses, Assignments and co-existence/settlement agreements. She possesses the ability to draft detailed agreements that minimize the possibility of disputes but rather fosters a good business relationship between the parties. In addition to the above she is able to assist clients to conduct any aspect of due diligence and audits on themselves or other companies they may have interest in taking over or merging with. She also has the ability to assist clients in evaluating their IP portfolios or those of companies of interests to them, with a view to ascertaining the status of IP assets of those companies.
Renee’s rich experience in intellectual property law and expertise in commercial law practice affords her the rare skill combination required to assist clients with their intellectual property issues that arise in commercial transactions.
In addition to the above Renee has over 12 years of litigation practice under her sleeves. She successfully defended a trademark infringement matter and successfully obtained a counterclaim for an invalidation order affecting that registered trademark.
Renee is affable and has excellent people skills. She is an excellent manager.
