Ms. Augustt is a lawyer and private practitioner currently working with Minkah-Premo & Co as an Associate. She received her LL.B from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) in 2009, and was called to the Ghana Bar in 2015 when she received her Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law. Between the years 2009 and 2012, Ms. Augustt worked with the largest mining company in the country, AngloGold Ashanti. In this company, she was assigned to the Industrial Relations Department of the Obuasi Mine, within which she supervised all disciplinary issues pertaining to the Mine’s surface operations and liaised with the company’s Legal Department, as well as retained lawyers, and various legal forums (e.g. Regional and National Houses of Chiefs, the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice, etc.) on the company’s behalf. Ms. Augustt also sat as an arbitrator appointed by management, on the company’s internal arbitration panel for the resolution of disputes.
As an Associate with Minkah-Premo & Co, Ms. Augustt’s area of specialization is the legal aspect of human resource management and industrial relations. In this respect, Ms. Augustt has provided compliance, advisory, transactional, and dispute resolution services to both employers and employees, and aided them in navigating the myriad difficulties which may arise in employment settings. In addition to her primary focus in employment law, Ms. Augustt has also provided advisory services on the applicability of various income tax and petroleum enactments to a reputable multinational petroleum company.
Ms. Augustt also serves as the Administrator of the firm’s former training arm, and current sister-company, The Law Institute. Within the Institute, Ms. Augustt has organized a number of paralegal training programmes for banks, governmental institutions, lawyers and other employees within law firms, law students, and numerous individuals interested in the study of law. In addition to her administrative duties, Ms. Augustt also teaches a variety of modules for the Institute.
Ms. Augustt also possesses a Certificate in Administration and Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), received in October 2009.
